Precise animal genetics
Calculate pairings with clarity.
GeneCalc is a platform specialized in genetic calculations for animal pairings. We are launching first with Indian ringnecks, one of the most fascinating groups in psittacine breeding, with color combinations, factors and mutations that require careful analysis.

A calculator for demanding breeders
Genetic pairings should not be treated as simple color lists. Every outcome depends on inheritance pattern, locus interaction, single or double factors, and genes carried without visual expression.
Visual results
Understand which phenotypes may appear in the offspring, including mutation combinations and color variations.
Splits and carriers
The system considers visually normal birds that carry recessive mutations and can pass them to their offspring.
Built to expand
GeneCalc starts with ringnecks, but it was designed to grow into other psittacines and, later, other animals.
Ringnecks: genetic diversity and beauty
In ringnecks, mutations can affect melanin distribution, psittacin expression, color intensity, dilution, darkening and many other visual traits. That is why pairings involving blue, green, ino, lutino, albino, cinnamon, pallid, edged, violet, dark factor, parblue and other combinations require careful evaluation.

Genetic principles made simple
Psittacin
Psittacin is a pigment typical of psittacines, associated with yellow, orange and red tones. When its production or expression changes, the bird’s appearance may change dramatically.
Melanin and structure
Blue and green are not just “colors”: they depend on the interaction between pigments and feather structure. In many birds, the lack of psittacin in the blue series reveals blue and turquoise tones.
Different inheritance modes
Some mutations are autosomal recessive, others are sex-linked, dominant, incompletely dominant or depend on factor combinations. The calculator respects those differences.
Start with ringnecks
GeneCalc’s first calculator is dedicated to ringnecks, focusing on precision, clarity and practical use for breeders.
